Man vs. Food Nation stopped by Hank’s Haute Dogs and we made a whole slew of specials for host, Adam Richman, including our popular Friday offering, THE LOBSTER FATBOY

Hank’s End of the Year/XMAS Party

December is filled with cheer and is usually a time of year that is busy, busy, busy! 
  
While our Dogs work hard to bring you the Signature Haute we are known for, we also know how to step back and take time to celebrate our team and get together out of work.  We all gathered for some food, fun, and games to celebrate at our annual Christmas Party.
It was a beautiful evening of fellowship and another memorable holiday party!  Until next year, Happy Holidays and have a great New Year.

Hank's Pop-Up(Date)!!!

The weather report is just in...  Bring your Umbrella and your appetites because it’s RAINING REINDEER! Hank’s Pop-Up is returning to Downtown!



From the North Western Tundra we’re bringing you our holiday twist, the Alaskan Reindeer Sausage.  This Dog’s huge, a ¼ pound of flavor, grilled and dressed with mustard, ketchup, mayo, onion, and relish ("kinda looks a lot like Christmas").  COMES AS A COMBO with our Shake Chips and Hibiscus Lemonade.  All this epicurean goodness for $9.50!

What Time Is It? Pop-Up Time!

With the success of the Travel Channel’s Man vs. Food Nation and people clamoring for the next Pop-Up, we’ve decided to bring you a fusion of sorts with our MAN vs. HANK’S Pop-Up, Friday December 16, 2011.

THE BIG HAWAIIAN was seen around the world and it left the shop at 324 Coral Street faster than Elvis left a building.  So we brought his little but massive Brother, THE MENEHUNE, into the spotlight during MAN vs. FOOD WEEKEND earlier this month. 

THE MENEHUNE was SO popular, it’s going to make a second appearance at the MAN vs. HANK’s Pop-Up, which sold out in record fashion. 

Maybe that’s because in Hawaii, Menehunes are known to disappear? 

Or perhaps because it’s massively delicious? 

Whatever the case, don’t worry, we’re also introducing a cast of characters which includes the All New Hank’s Frank, a Gourmet Dog (at a steal of a deal for $2.95), and the Double Dog, (two dogs, one bun for $4.95), which will be available for purchase that day. 

So come on down and join in the fun before Hank’s Frank and the Double Dog learn from their Haute Hawaiian cousins and fly away!

It's Rein'in...

Straight out of the tundra of Alaska… Look!  It’s not up in the sky!  It’s not a bird or a plane (and why would you want to eat a plane?)…  Look, what’s that over there at Hank’s Haute Dogs?  It’s the:

REINDEER SAUSAGE!!!

(Applause)

OK, enough fanfare, we got the Reindeer Dog, a holiday favorite, making another cameo appearance on Hank’s Menu.  And don’t worry, our Reindeer are flightless, so you can rest assured and tell the kids (and the child in all of us) that Rudolph and his friends are still going to be dancing and prancing for years to come.  Unless they go on strike, but they can take that up with Santa!

Blended with beef, this lean full-flavored polish style sausage weighs in at nearly a 1/4 pound! It’s cooked on the grill and topped by condiments of our choice: mustard, ketchup, mayo, raw onion, and green relish.  With all those Christmas colors, it’s like cheer in your mouth!

The Reindeer will only be in town for the Holidays and we have a limited supply so hop on over to our Kaka’ako restaurant, Hank’s Haute Dogs, at 324 Coral Street fast!  They'll be flying out of here.... oops, sorry...  They dance and prance out the door, umm, you get the point, they sell out quickly so come and get'm!

Pop-Up: What's Popping?

We’ve been getting asked a lot of questions about the Pop-Up.   Questions like:

When’s the next one?

Where will it be?

How come we have to wait Hank? And…

Why, Hank, Why?  Why are you leaving us hanging?  WHY?!? The suspense is killing us….

Well, we just wanted to take the time to let you know that we hear you and not to worry. The thing with Pop-Ups, they just pop up, and you never know if one is far off or near…  

For now, you can get your fix of Hank’s creative deliciousness at either of our locations.  Right now, at 324 Coral Street, we have Man Vs. Food Weekend!  Adam Richman and the Travel Channel brought their popular TV Show to us.  To celebrate the show, which aired on November 30, we’re featuring all the specials (The Lobster Fat Boy, The Seoul Dog, The Big Hawaiian, and The Truffled Italian Beef Combo) this weekend!

Hank's on Man v. Food Nation Update

The Travel Channel’s popular TV Show, Man Vs. Food Nation, stopped by Hank’s Haute Dogs recently to film and the episode airs this Thursday, November 30, 2011!!!  In Hawaii, the show will be on Basic Cable, Channel 58, at 7:00pm (with a “second helping” at 10pm) and at 4:00pm on Digital Cable 325 (HD 1325).

We made a number of specials for Adam to try and only he know what ends up on the show!  Don’t worry because you won't miss anything as we’re offering each special at our flagship shop, located at 324 Coral Street, to celebrate Man V. Food Weekend, Dec. 2 – Dec. 5, and it's quite the All-Star Dog line-up we have for you.

First up to bat we have the Lobster Fat Boy, our friend Ed’s crazy concoction, combining our specialties: the homemade Lobster Dog and our Fat Boy!  That's right, a Lobster Sausage wrapped up in bacon, deep fried and topped with garlic aioli, lettuce, and tomato!  Ooh la la, it’s lead-off home run and will be for sale on December 2nd, as with every Friday!



On Saturday, December 3rd, following the Lobster lead-off, we are bringing you a taste of Korea with our Seoul Dog.  Indulge in batter fries to an all-beef hot dog on a stick, which we then deep fry and pair with a kim chee mignonette (sauce).  Haute! Haute! Haute!



Adam is into big things and we created this monster, The Big Hawaiian! This baby is cooking up at Hank’s on Sunday, December 4th, it’s a half-pound, foot long monstrosity with Kalua Pig, BBQ Poi Sauce, Pineapple Relish, pickled onion, and cabbage!  It’s Adam BIG!!!



Then it's back to our Chicago roots on Monday, December 5th.  On that day, we take the Chicago Classic Italian Beef Sandwich to another level with the Truffled Italian Beef Combo.  The iconic Chicago Beef Sandwich is paired with our house made Italian Sausage then covered with Truffled Cheese Sauce of our Truffled Mac and Cheese fame.  In Hawaii, we say “broke the mouth,” and you better believe this puppy is packing the flavor!



So join us for this exciting time.  We’ll be delighted to have you dine with us!  All our traditional items will be for sale as well, so you can be sure to get your Chicago Dog fix!

Adam Richman revisited Oahu to honor our food scene with his humongous appetite.  In addition to his food challenge elsewhere in Waikiki, Adam paid a visit to hank’s to try out some of our haute dogs.  Although he ate quite of few off our regular menu, we made some new wild creations for him to try. So after the debut showing, starting on Friday December 2, we will offer Adam’s special stuff during a

MAN vs FOOD WEEKEND:


Friday Dec 2- LOBSTER FAT BOY
Ed’s Special. Lobster Dog wrapped in bacon, deep fried and served with garlic aioli, lettuce and tomato.

Saturday Dec 3- SEOUL DOG
From the streets of Korea.  Batter glue fries to an all beef dog planted on a stick, deep fried and served with a kim chee mignonette. Wild!

Sunday Dec 4- THE BIG HAWAIIAN
A challenge for sure!  Foot long hot dog, Kalua Pig, BBQ Poi Sauce, pineapple relish, pickle onion and cabbage.

Monday Dec 5- TRUFFLED ITALIAN BEEF COMBO
The iconic Chicago Beef Sandwich paired with our house made Italian Sausage then covered in our Truffled Cheese Sauce.

Which one will make it to the show?  Only Adam knows.
